Arcanum is a single-user, local-only personal vault app for Android. This Privacy Policy explains what Arcanum does with information entered by the user and what device features the app may use.
1. No account required
Arcanum does not require an account. The app does not ask users to sign up, sign in, or maintain an online profile.
2. No ads and no analytics
Arcanum does not contain ads. Arcanum does not use analytics. Arcanum does not use tracking SDKs to profile user behavior.
3. No Firebase, Supabase, or cloud sync
Arcanum does not use Firebase, Supabase, or cloud sync in the current version. Arcanum does not upload vault contents to developer servers.
4. Local storage on the device
Vault data is stored locally on the user's device. Users choose what information they store. This may include passwords, PINs, bank details, notes, documents, emergency details, and other sensitive personal information that the user decides to enter.
5. Local encrypted storage
Arcanum uses local encrypted storage to help protect vault data on the device. No security system is perfect, and users should keep their device secure and use a strong device passcode or biometric lock where available.
6. Device features the app may use
- Biometric authentication: Arcanum may use biometric authentication where supported by the device if the user enables it.
- Clipboard access: Arcanum may use clipboard access when the user taps copy.
- Clipboard auto-clear: Arcanum may clear copied sensitive values from the clipboard after a short period when possible.
- Secure storage: Arcanum may use device secure storage features to help protect local vault materials.
- Files and documents: Arcanum may use local file, document picker, and share features for encrypted backup and restore.
- Screen protection: Arcanum may use screen protection features where supported by the device.

8. No cloud sync in the current version
No cloud sync is included in the current version. If cloud-related features are ever added in the future, this Privacy Policy will be updated before those features are released.
9. Deleting local data
Users can delete local vault data by using Reset Vault in the app or by uninstalling the app. During early internal testing, users should use test data.
10. Lost PIN and recovery limits
The developer cannot recover lost PINs or decrypt vault data for the user. If a PIN is lost, the user may lose access to the vault unless they reset it and start over.

Users should keep their device secure, keep Android updated, and avoid storing sensitive data on devices they do not control.
