Privacy Policy

Mealfolio is created and operated by Ben Treder. This policy describes the Mealfolio Android testing candidate and will be updated if the app’s data practices, dependencies, or legal requirements change.
1. No account required
Mealfolio does not require you to create an account, sign in, or maintain a developer-hosted profile.
2. Local application data
Mealfolio stores the following information locally on your Android device: meal plans and calendar entries, meal history, custom recipes, recipe favorites, notes and ratings, Kitchen inventory and storage locations, shopping lists, application preferences, and local backup information. Local data remains until you delete it, clear app storage, restore over it, or uninstall the app.
3. No developer data collection
Based on the final release dependency and merged-manifest audit for the current candidate, Ben Treder does not collect, receive, sell, or use your recipes, Kitchen contents, meal plans, shopping lists, or meal history on a developer-operated server. The app contains no remote user database, recipe API, telemetry, analytics, advertising, tracking, or crash-reporting SDK.
4. Google Play Billing
Optional Premium purchases are processed by Google Play. Google may process purchase, account, device, transaction, and diagnostic information according to Google’s policies. Mealfolio receives only the purchase and entitlement information needed to acknowledge and unlock the one-time Premium product. Mealfolio does not receive or store full payment-card credentials. Premium entitlement is not transferable through a Mealfolio backup.
5. Recipe sharing
When you tap Share Recipe, Mealfolio uses Android’s system sharing interface. If you select another application or recipient, that information is handled by the selected service and its privacy practices. Mealfolio does not automatically share Kitchen inventory, meal history, private notes, or shopping lists.
6. Backup and restore
When you deliberately export a backup, Android’s file-selection system lets you choose where the versioned local file is saved. A backup can contain private application data including custom recipes, plans, history, Kitchen items, shopping lists, favorites, ratings, notes, and relevant preferences. You control where the file is stored or shared and should handle it securely. Premium purchase entitlement is excluded and cannot be transferred through backup. Restore is replace-only and requires an explicit user action.
7. Local reminders
The current testing candidate does not claim remote notifications or server reminders. If local reminder scheduling is added in a future release, this policy will be updated to explain its local behavior and any permission used.
8. Data deletion and retention
You can use Mealfolio’s Clear All Data option, Android application storage settings, or uninstall the application. Uninstalling can remove locally stored information unless you first create a backup. Ben Treder does not retain Mealfolio user content on developer servers when no such content is transmitted to those servers.
9. Children
Mealfolio is a general household meal-planning utility and is not specifically directed toward children. Review the final Play target-audience declaration for the current release.
10. Security
Local-first storage reduces remote exposure, but no device or storage method can be guaranteed completely secure. Protect your Android device and exported backup files.
11. Changes
This policy may be updated when Mealfolio features, dependencies, or legal requirements change. The effective date above identifies the current version.
